Temperament:  Black-cheeked Waxbills are active, not restless finches who need a lot of room for exercise. Planted greenery in the cage or aviary will give them a feeling of security.

Breeding:  Monogamous, territorial solitary nester, with pairs staying together for at least 3-15 months. The nest is built by both sexes, consisting of a thick-walled ball of grass leaves and inflorescences with a long entrance tunnel on the bottom.
